Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience preferred in an acute care facility License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Experience in an acute care facility preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and discretion. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops plans that prescribe interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing safe and humane patient care. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
