Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Employs independent judgment in patient care decisions. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situations. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. Implements care plans and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and maintain a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure quality care. Provides learning opportunities for patients and team members. Directly delivers health information to patients and families. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates responsibilities appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
