Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,113 per week in Towson, MD

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Intensive Care. Previous charge experience preferred. Trauma Level I or II experience preferred. Travel experience required. License: Active state RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Experience with various critical care procedures and technologies. Ability to float to different units as needed. Flexible scheduling capabilities. Description: Registered Nurses will work in a multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit. Shifts will rotate between days and nights based on department staffing needs. Every other weekend and holiday work is required. Patient populations will include adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include critical and complex conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, and cardiac issues. All nursing staff will administer medications including pressors and sedation. Staff must manage critical care equipment such as ventilators and CRRT. Nurses will provide care for patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions. Additional responsibilities include central line care, arterial line management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs. Candidates must be comfortable with isolation precautions and infection prevention practices. Experience with charting systems, particularly Epic, is preferred but not mandatory. Staff will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care. Availability to respond to rapid response calls or provide support during emergencies is expected. Comfort and experience with pronation therapy is preferred. All travel nurses will need to adhere to established policies and procedures. Candidates are expected to maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 on shifts, potentially 3:1 for lower acuity cases. Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to accommodate for team needs, is essential.
