Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,146 per week in Fredericksburg, VA

SICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: VA or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Strong CVICU experience preferred Description: The role involves direct patient care for a specialized population within the SICU. The patients include trauma cases, cardiovascular surgery patients, and other complicated surgical patients. Candidates should be proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Common diagnoses include acute ventilator need, severe sepsis, trauma cases, unstable GI bleed, and multi-system organ failure. The nurse will be involved in the management of patients requiring CRRT and open heart recovery. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:2-3, depending on skill level and acuity. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Travelers may float to non-ICU units as operational needs require. Charting will be done using an electronic health record system. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity environment.
