Job Title: ICU Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 24 months of current ICU experience required, Med Surg experience strongly encouraged License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required Certifications: - ACLS (AHA) - BLS (AHA) - PALS (AHA) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) certificate required - NIHSS certificate preferred (can be obtained during onboarding) Must-Have: - Recent/current travel experience - EPIC experience - Comfort caring for 3-5 patients Description: Quickly interviewing viable candidates. Phone call or text from a designated area code required. Local radius rule applies. ICU Unit consists of 5 ICU beds and 3 stepdown beds. Staff ratio is 1:2, sometimes 1:3 depending on overflow. Patient types include those on ventilators, BiPAP, AIRVO, and various surgical cases. Drips managed include propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin. Med Surg Unit has a bed size of 23 with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:5. Patient types in the Med Surg Unit include bariatric surgery, orthopedic cases, and general medical-surgical patients. Candidates should submit their work history/resume/employment history reflecting 24 months of current ICU experience. A skills checklist specific to ICU/Intensive Care discipline is required. Professional references from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager/director are preferred.
