Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Valid state or compact nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Proficiency with EPIC - IV start experience - Telemetry experience - Ventilator management experience - Previous travel nursing experience preferred Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, and Medical ICUs. Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and assisting with chest tube insertion/removal are skills needed. Candidates must be able to manage BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and central line care. Experience with chronic/acute renal failure, continuous IV sedation, and management of dysrhythmias is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with obtaining 12 lead EKGs and performing phlebotomy. The role involves participation in special procedures such as kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplants. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and more. Due to the critical nature of the environment, a high level of adaptability and teamwork is expected.
