Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC IV Start Telemetry experience Ventilator management experience Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity. This includes Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, and Cardiology/Diagnostics. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Candidates must possess the following: - IV Start skills - Telemetry experience - Ventilator management experience Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Skills: Accessing and managing ports. Arterial line management. Assisting with chest tube insertion and removal. BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance. Blood product administration. Care of ventilated patients. Central line care and management. Management of chronic and acute renal failure. Continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade. Continuous IV sedation management. Post cardiac surgery care. Emergency medications administration. Interpretation of arterial blood gases. Isolation precautions and PPE management. Phlebotomy skills. Suctioning techniques. Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Float Policy: Nurses are required to float to different units as needed. The patient ratio is manageable across all shifts. Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit. This includes services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Required References: Two professional references are required from previous employers or supervisors. Candidates must demonstrate a collaborative and adaptable approach to critical care nursing.
