Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: BSN required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Level I trauma experience - Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance - Strong IV skills required - Competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a cardiovascular intensive care setting. Nurses will care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery and other high-acuity diagnoses. Expect high ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for patient assignments, with a significant number of 1:1 cases. Nurses will be required to perform bedside procedures, including but not limited to bronchoscopy and epidural placement. A strong understanding of maintaining a sterile field is crucial. There is a 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy service available. Nurses will work with advanced technology and equipment, including telemetry systems. The unit has a high census, and staff will collaborate with intensivists during the day. Weekend shifts are required as part of the rotation. Holidays will be assigned based on unit needs. Expect a fast-paced environment that demands strong critical thinking and clinical skills.
