Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS certification required Must-Have: Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps Experience with Impellas Experience with Post-op Cardiovascular surgeries Experience with CRRT Description: Three positions are open. Experience is required in a critical care setting. The unit cares for patients with conditions such as DKA, Acute Respiratory Failure, MIs, CABGs, and those on ventilators. It is a mixed cardiac and medical ICU. The nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of relevant aspects of each situation. The role involves providing routine and complex care and contributing toward long-range goals. Nurses will manage contingencies in clinical nursing and make appropriate assignments to other care providers. Nurses are expected to meet the competencies of the organization. They will provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The position requires addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Nurses will administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness. Documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided is essential. Nurses will assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families as necessary.
