TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred; will accept new graduates. License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required; ACLS certification required Must-Have: Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps Experience with Impellas Experience with post-op cardiovascular surgeries Experience with CRRT Description: Two positions available, 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees are available. Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours. Seeking candidates with experience in complex critical care situations. This unit caters to patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, CABGs, and those on ventilators. It is a mixed cardiac and medical intensive care unit. The nurse is expected to practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. The nurse will provide routine and complex care, with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Continued development in coping with and managing contingencies of clinical nursing is essential. The nurse will make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as a means to help manage clinical situations. The role includes meeting the expectations of applicable competencies, including self-leadership, leadership of others, or leadership of leaders. In accordance with established standards, the nurse will provide care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families will be addressed according to their level of practice. The nurse will administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, and monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documentation will include patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assessment of learning needs and education for patients, family members, and/or caregivers will be conducted, identifying issues and resources. All newly hired experienced RNs must complete designated orientation processes within the first 30 days of hire. Successful completion of required competencies is necessary. Annual competency verification requirements must be met.
