Description:
This position requires working in a busy intensive care environment with an average daily census.
The unit includes 33 beds and treats a variety of patients, including trauma and cardiac cases.
Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:2-3 for adults.
RNs are expected to titrate drips, including any cardiac drip and insulin.
Healthcare support staff is available based on patient volume to assist RNs.
RNs must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips and monitor patients effectively.
Staff is required to work every other weekend and a minimum of two holidays during the contract period.
RNs may be called back in from on-call status and must arrive within 30 minutes.
All RNs must adhere to the fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails while providing patient care.
A pass/fail exam during orientation will assess clinical skills learned, and a score of 90% is required to pass.
Self-scheduling is available for core staff, with limitations on block scheduling for travelers.
RNs may be floated to other areas with the same patient load ratios as usual.
RTO requests should be made upfront, and additional requests may not be approved post-submission.
