Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,254 per week in Kearney, NE

Candidates must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation with a minimum score of 90%. RNs are required to titrate drips. Description: The unit has an average daily census of 16 with 33 beds. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent and pacemaker placements, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2-3 for adults. Nurse aides may assist on the floor as needed based on volume. RNs are responsible for reading, interpreting, and documenting telemetry strips while monitoring equipment. RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment. Shifts are scheduled from 0630 to 1830 or 1830 to 0630. Self-scheduling is available for core staff, with travelers added in as needed. Minimum requirements include working every other weekend and two holidays during the contract period. Floating to PCU or MedSurg occurs occasionally, with the same patient ratios as typically assigned on those units. Request for time off should be seven days or fewer for the duration of the contract. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting will be done using the EPIC system. A BSN is not required for this position, but a valid nursing license is needed. The care setting is acute and the trauma level is 2.
