Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: - ACLS certification - Ventilator management experience - Vasoactive drips and multiple medication experience - Epic experience preferred Description: This position involves working in a critical care setting with a mix of ICU and stepdown beds. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients requiring advanced medical attention. Staffing will be scheduled monthly based on unit needs, with an effort to avoid weekend shifts unless previously discussed. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1 for critical care and 4:1 for telemetry. Nurses may be required to float to the medical-surgical ward during low census periods. Support staff will not be available on night shifts. The unit does not perform hemodynamic monitoring beyond artlines and CVP lines. Experience with ventilators and acute dialysis is necessary, as these are part of the care provided. The patient population primarily includes those recovering from medical and abdominal surgeries. No neuro or cardiac surgeries are performed. Cancellation policy allows for one shift cancellation every four weeks.
