Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of CVICU experience License: Current RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend required Description: This position involves working in a specialized Cardio Thoracic ICU. The ICU specializes in open-heart surgeries and advanced cardiovascular support. Nurses will provide care for critically ill adults using a range of modalities. Effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team are essential. The nurse-to-patient ratio will vary based on acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:2. Experience with managing ventilated patients and cardiac care is preferred. The role includes managing medications and assisting with various procedures. Strong critical thinking skills are necessary for dealing with complex patient needs. Candidates must be willing to float within like units as needed. Weekend coverage is required based on unit needs. Candidates should have experience with the Epic charting system. Additional specialized skills may enhance nursing performance in this setting.
