Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required, plus a minimum of 1 year CV ICU experience preferred. License: Must have a valid nursing license. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIH required. Must-Have: Strong, independent experienced nurses for ICU float positions. Description: Responsible for floating to multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac / Heart and Vascular, Client, Medicine, and COVID. Will float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse if ICU needs are not present. Expected to float to non-critical care units if census is low in ICU. May be asked to serve as a patient sitter when necessary. Every other weekend requirement with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule plus holiday rotation. Patient ratio is 2:1 in ICU. Will float to inpatient floors when needed with a ratio of no more than 1:3. Preferred cardiac skill set includes Swans, hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and vasoactive drips. Experience with CRRT is preferred. Past experience with electronic charting is preferred. Flu vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions only. Chemo, CCRN, ONS, TNCC, and CPI certifications are preferred. Vents, IV start, Telemetry, and Conscious Sedation skills are required. Preferred experience includes triage, ICP, PA lines, and Level 1 Trauma. Must have experience in administration of chemotherapy and management of ventilated patients. Understanding of infection prevention and interpretation of dysrhythmias is required. Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is necessary. This role is essential for delivering high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics. Floating within service line is mandatory for all positions.
