Position: Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Maywood, IL
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 3×12
Experience Required: 1 Year
Weekly Pay:$2,270 to $2,470
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
Perform thorough assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, neurological status, and other critical parameters
Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and emergencies
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely
Manage and monitor IV infusions, including high-alert and vasoactive medications as appropriate
Monitor ventilated and high-acuity patients in collaboration with physicians and respiratory therapists
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Assist with procedures and interventions performed at the bedside
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, medications, and care expectations
Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient safety, and hospital protocols
Participate in rapid response and emergency situations as required
Advocate for patients and provide compassionate, evidence-based care throughout their ICU stay
Qualifications
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
Current BLS Certification required
Current ACLS Certification required
Strong knowledge of critical care nursing, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
Experience caring for high-acuity adult patients
Familiarity with ventilator management and critical care equipment preferred
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
Excellent assessment, communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to prioritize multiple clinical needs in a fast-paced ICU
Strong commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes
