Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,272 per week in Oakland, MD

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) Must-Have: ICU experience Description: The unit consists of 4 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 to 2. RNs are required to titrate drips such as propofol, cardizem, insulin, precedex, and levo. Clinical assistants are available most days, 24 hours a day, depending on census. There are hospitalists and intensivists in-house. Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU 24/7. RNs are responsible for monitoring and reading strips for both medical-surgical and ICU patients. 12-hour shifts run from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Weekend requirements are every other week. RNs may be floated to medical-surgical units if census is low, but typically do not take a full team of patients. Scrub color is flexible except for camo or orange. Additional onboarding involves a review with management and some training specific to the unit. This position rotates holiday requirements with regular staff. There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
