TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable working all ICU and PCU units. Description: Position involves providing care as an ICU/PCU float nurse. Candidate must be comfortable floating between multiple units based on staffing needs. Schedule consists of 3 shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15. Charting will be performed using electronic health record system. Floating may occur 2-3 times per shift as staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block. Holidays must be worked as per contract requirements. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are also considered with radius rules applicable. Call off policy permits the facility to call off one shift every two weeks. Required clinical skills include: - IV therapy with arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration - Management of respiratory supports such as BiPAP and CPAP - Administration of emergency medications and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Wound care for surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs - Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management - Adherence to IV insulin protocols Unit details include: - Patient ratio in PCU is 5:1 and in ICU is 2:1 - Experience in a large Level 1 or 2 facility is required - Additional interdisciplinary support services available This role requires a collaborative approach to patient care and effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills and be able to manage complex patient cases effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to nursing excellence and patient-centered care. Compliance with COVID-19 and flu vaccination requirements is mandatory with exemptions allowed for medical and religious reasons.
