Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU/PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience at a large facility License: Active state or compact RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with EPIC charting - Comfort working in all ICU and PCU units - Ability to float between units as needed Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in ICU and PCU. The nurse must be comfortable floating between different ICU and PCU units. The shift consists of three 12-hour night shifts each week. Charting experience with EPIC is required. The nurse may need to float 2-3 times per shift based on staffing needs. Weekend shifts may be required, with a minimum of two weekends in a six-week block. The nurse is expected to work at least one holiday during the 13-week contract. A strong understanding of various clinical skills is essential, including: - IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration - Respiratory support management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilated patient care - Medication administration, including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Wound care, including managing surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs - Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management - Adherence to IV insulin protocols for endocrine/metabolic support The nurse must possess strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams. Experience working in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility is preferred. The patient-to-nurse ratios are 5:1 in PCU and 2:1 in ICU, emphasizing the need for efficient and effective care delivery.
