Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of ICU experience required - Experience with basic ICU equipment - Ability to float to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical if experienced Description: This position involves working in an intensive care unit. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts from 1800 to 0630. There is a modified self-scheduling system that allows for blocking shifts. Three weekend shifts are required in a four-week schedule. Floating may be required based on experience and staff needs. The unit typically has 12 beds with ratios of 1:2. Common cases include pneumonia, ventilation management, post-cardiac catheterization, and various medical emergencies. Equipment utilized includes GE floor-mounted C-arms, Volcano system, and cardiology hemodynamic systems. Common infusions include amiodarone, cardizem, levophed, and others as required for patient care. The nurse will work collaboratively with respiratory therapists and support staff. Holiday requirements have not been specified. Scrubs may be any color. This is an acute care setting with a trauma level of 3.
