Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Burn Intensive Care Unit Duration: 22 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: - ICU experience required - Epic experience required - Telemetry test required prior to starting Description: We are seeking an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse (RN). Practice as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team on an 11-bed acuity adaptable unit. Provide compassionate care to both adult and pediatric patients who may have chemical, electrical, scald, or thermal burns and/or complex wounds in the critical care setting. Be part of a Level One Trauma Center and an ACS-verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center. Travelers may be assigned to burn patients but would not be asked to perform burn cares. ICU experience is required; no burn experience is necessary. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience for inpatient RN travelers is two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: - Adult exam must identify lethal rhythms; passing score of 80% or higher. - Pediatric exam must also have a passing score of 80% or higher. If a traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be required before a third attempt can be assigned. Failure after three attempts will result in the assignment cancellation. Provide nursing care within a supportive and energetic environment. This position involves providing care to patients with complex medical and surgical needs. Strong critical thinking and communication skills are essential.
