TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience from a Large Level 1/Level 2 facility. License: Active single-state license from a non-compact state or active Compact RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable working in all ICU, PCU, and MS units. Must have experience with patient ratios of at least 1:5. Description: Position involves floating among various units including ICU, PCU, and MS. The nurse may float 2-3 times per shift, as staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. The nurse must work one holiday during the contract. Epic experience is required for charting. The nurse should possess skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and central line care/management. Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, continuous IV sedation, and blood product administration is essential. Strong experience in managing non-invasive airway support, including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management, is required. The role also involves care for patients with chest tubes and administration of emergency medications. The average patient ratios in the ICU are 2:1, in PCU are 5:1, and in MS may flex up to 7:1. Candidates must be able to manage and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias. In addition, skilled attendance to ventilated patients and regular patient assessments is necessary. The candidate should be familiar with interdisciplinary support services and patient care protocols.
