Certifications:
Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Must-Have: Experience in EPIC
Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
Implements care plans and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluates progress toward attaining patient outcomes.
Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe and humane patient care.
Provides learning opportunities for patients and team members.
Directly provides health information to patients and families.
Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Adheres to safety and wellbeing requirements for associates and patients.
Receives all required vaccinations as a condition of employment.
Participates in E-Verify.
Unit Information:
Specializes in managing ICU-level equipment and procedures.
Typical patients include those with respiratory failure, DKA, post-cardiac catheterization, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal.
Nurses are expected to manage titratable IV drips including vasopressors.
Shifts include both day and night rotations.
Weekly schedule may require weekend coverage and regular floating between units.
Documentation system utilized is Cerner.
Service availability includes a 24-hour pharmacy and phlebotomy service.
Special equipment includes ventilators, temperature management devices, and EKG monitors.
Scrubs must be solid color.
Patient care is delivered in a supportive and collaborative environment.
