Key Responsibilities of the Travel ICU Registered Nurse:
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to critically ill and post-surgical patients
- Administer medications, manage ventilators, and titrate vasoactive drips as ordered
- Perform comprehensive assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Operate and maintain critical care equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Support patient and family education regarding recovery and care planning
Requirements of the Travel ICU Registered Nurse:
- Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience in an acute care hospital
- Strong assessment, technical, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response
