Job Opportunity – Critical Care ICU Registered Nurse – Pennsylvania

Schedule: 36-hour orientation period, patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 3:1, every other weekend and holiday required, no on-call shifts, floating required as part of Critical Care Float Pool
Highlights
Work in a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environment providing critical care to adult cardiac surgery patients
Specialized post-operative care including AVR, MVR, CABG, and other cardiac surgical procedures
Experience with advanced equipment including SWAN catheters, continuous monitoring, mechanical devices, and ventricular assist devices
Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and therapy services
11-bed specialized cardiovascular ICU unit with robust clinical team support
Requirements
Active Pennsylvania RN license or compact license in hand at time of application
Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Critical Care Float Pool experience strongly preferred
Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma facility experience required
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (required); NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (preferred)
Previous charge experience preferred
Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, IABP, conscious sedation, coronary artery bypass procedures, and ventricular assist devices
Competency in administering blood products, starting peripheral IVs, wound management, and code response
Ability to complete required compliance items including fingerprinting and clinical assessment exam
