Care delivery is aligned with the philosophy and goals of the Department of Nursing. The RN utilizes the Theory of Caring, Relationship-Based Care, and a professional nursing practice model. Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care are provided for all assigned patients. The RN makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals. A therapeutic professional relationship is established with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Care is tailored to meet the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of patients. Support for the organization's mission, vision, and values is essential. Competence is demonstrated through the ability to apply scientific knowledge from various disciplines. Care provided is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan and is based on Relationship-Based Care principles. Ongoing assessment of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions is crucial. Nursing diagnoses are formulated based on direct observations and information obtained from patients and others. Collaboration with clients leads to the development of care plans ensuring safety and comfort. Essential nursing skills are performed, and health treatments are explained to clients and families. Teaching clients and families about health needs is an important part of care. The effectiveness of care plans is evaluated through observation and communication with clients and health team members. Modifications to the care plan are made as needed. Current knowledge and safe utilization of equipment and medications are required. Tasks are delegated to care team members based on their competencies. Effective supervision of nursing care provided by the care team is imperative. Client advocacy is prioritized to improve healthcare decisions that align with client interests. Culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care is provided. Coordination of patient care activities involves collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other health professionals. Effective communication skills facilitate safe patient handoffs. Documentation of nursing care follows hospital policies. Utilization of information systems improves efficiency and productivity. Accountability for patient satisfaction is essential. Contributions to positive patient care experiences are recognized. Immediate resolution of complaints is a goal. Investigation of complaints is necessary, providing information to the appropriate personnel. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
