This role focuses on intensive care, requiring nurses to float as needed within ratios of 2-3, in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities of the ICU RN- Arterial line management
- Blood Product Administration
- Central line care/management
- Continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
- Continuous IV sedation
- Emergency Medications
- Infection Prevention
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Isolation Precautions/PPE
- IV insulin protocols
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
- Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
- Phlebotomy
- PICC line management
- Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience
- Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia
- Titrate Cardiac drips
- Titrate Vasoactive drips
Requirements of the ICU RN- Must have NY license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Charge experience highly preferred
