**Job Description:**
- **Shift Information:** 1845-0715
- **Minimum Years of Experience:** 3.0
- **Certifications/Requirements:**
- Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Valid professional license within the state of practice / nurse licensure compact
- Additional requirements for a compact license:
- Verification of suicide training
- Verification of demographic data via Nursys e-Notify
- Proof of right to work in the United States
- Critical care experience in a hospital setting
**Position Responsibilities:**
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients utilizing scientific nursing principles
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions in accordance with policy
- Deliver basic bedside care and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians
- Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury:
- Post-treatment home care needs
- Diet/nutrition/exercise programs
- Self-administration of medication and rehabilitation
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions
- Take samples for lab work, order prescribed lab work, and evaluate/interprets lab reports
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
- Respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocol
- Document all care information accurately and timely, using appropriate formats
- Apply Hemodynamic, Phlebotomy, and IV protocols
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays such as:
- Central venous pressures
- Pulmonary artery pressures
- Cardiac rhythms from monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
- Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and functionality
- Initiate corrective action whenever monitoring/life support equipment indicates adverse symptoms
