The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a critical care environment. The role requires managing a patient ratio of 1:4 to 5. The candidate should be comfortable floating to other units when necessary. Key responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and assisting with chest tube insertion and removal. The RN will also provide care for ventilated patients and administer emergency medications. It is critical to have skills in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing patients with multisystem organ failure. Successful candidates will need to adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions. The role may require on-call availability and participation in weekend rotations. Candidates must have a strong understanding of critical care nursing practices and complete a 7-year work history verification. Effective communication and teamwork are essential as you will work alongside an interdisciplinary support team.
