Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience - Charting system experience with Epic Description: The Registered Nurse in the ICU will provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Experience with accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and general critical care procedures is essential. Managing care for ventilated patients and administering blood products will be required. Knowledge of chronic and acute renal failure management, IV sedation, and cardiovascular management is needed. The nurse must be adept at interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias. Experience with phlebotomy and IV management is crucial. The selected candidate may float to other departments as necessary. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams are important. Candidates should have experience managing a patient load reflective of current ratios. The role requires the ability to adapt to changing patient needs and to work effectively under pressure.
