Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,555 per week in Oxnard, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred - Travel experience preferred - Cerner experience preferred Description: Unit consists of 20 beds. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH. Patient ratios are typically 1 to 2, may be 1 to 1 in certain situations. Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner. Charge nurses are present on the unit. Nurse aides are available for assistance during designated hours. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holiday shifts will rotate with permanent staff, typically including one major and one minor holiday. Scrub color is navy. Tele/monitor technicians are not available; nurses are responsible for reading strips. IV drips such as vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, propofol, and fentanyl may be administered. Mechanical ventilation is part of the patient care. Clientist or intensivist is available in-house, with on-call services after hours. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts consist of 12 hours with self-scheduling, which may not always be guaranteed. Floating to stepdown or observation units may be required. Specific floor orientation consists of three shifts. Common diagnoses and types of patients include neuro surgery, open heart procedures, and post-cardiac catheterizations. Experience with CRRT or ECMO is not required. Cancellation policy allows cancellation of a limited number of shifts during the assignment.
