They assist physicians in performing various procedures.
They observe and record patient vital signs accurately.
They ensure that medical equipment functions properly and make adjustments as needed.
They administer intravenous fluids and medications.
They perform suctioning as required.
They collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals in critical care settings.
They respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols.
They act as patient advocates throughout the care process.
They provide education and support to patients and their families.
Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.
Some may take on roles as case managers or in administrative capacities.
