Join a leading Level 1 Trauma Center in Rockford, Illinois, as an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse. This 13-week contract assignment offers the opportunity to provide high-acuity patient care within both Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-Down environments.
The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting, demonstrating proficiency across various critical care specialties including Neurology ICU, Critical Care Unit (CCU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), and general ICU. You will be instrumental in managing complex patient cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.
This role requires flexibility and a willingness to float between the ICU and Step-Down units, adapting your expertise to meet dynamic patient needs and unit demands.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized patient care plans.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established policies, procedures, and state practice acts.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
Initiate and manage patient and family education regarding health conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
Actively participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and shared governance.
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across various units as needed.
Apply critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
Float between Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-Down units based on patient acuity and staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated strong experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
Experience gained specifically within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program; education verification required.
Willingness to float to Step-Down ICU units as needed.
