Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,569 per week in Folsom, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of ICU experience - Ability to read and interpret EKG strips - Experience with ventilators Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit features a total of 8 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1 to 1:2. Registered Nurses are expected to manage patient care and provide support within the ICU environment. There is a requirement for weekend shifts every other weekend and holiday rotations. Scrub colors should be navy, with undershirts allowed in navy, white, or black. Telemedicine support is available for remote physician consultations. The unit manages a variety of patients, including those with stable CVA post TPA, respiratory failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, and DKA. There are no nurse aides in the ICU, so registered nurses are expected to perform all nursing duties. Charting is conducted using a specified electronic medical record system. Self-scheduling is utilized while maintaining departmental balance. Registered Nurses may be required to float to other areas as necessary. Onboarding includes floor-specific orientation with a preceptor, lasting 1-2 days. Registered Nurses will primarily deliver care to a general medical and surgical population. Cancellation policies allow for a limited number of cancellations by the facility during an assignment.
