Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,582 per week in Albuquerque, NM

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in ICU License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience of at least 2 years - Patient ratio experience of 2:1 Description: ICU Nights position available. First-time travelers are welcome. Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required. Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week. Ratios are 1:2. Weekends are required. May be floated to medical-surgical, stepdown, progressive care unit, emergency room, and cardiovascular ICU. Capped at a maximum of 4 patients while floating. Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile local radius. Local candidates are not accepted. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Unit will manage adult patient age groups. Experience with the following skills is essential: - Arterial line management - Chest tube insertion/removal assistance - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Management of chronic/acute renal failure - Continuous IV sedation - Management of stroke patients - External ventricular drain care - High flow nasal cannula management - Hypothermia protocol and management - ICP monitoring - Infection prevention strategies - Interpretation of arterial blood gases - Management of dysrhythmias - Isolation precautions This position requires the ability to start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage ventricular and vasoactive drips. Travelers will receive brief orientation on the unit. All travelers must comply with lab requirements within the designated business hours. Modules are non-billable and completed onsite during orientation. This nursing position involves working with a variety of critical care patients and requires a high level of skills and professionalism.
