Description:
36 hours or 48 hours available.
Required experience: 2 years in ICU.
Night shift position in Long-Term Acute Care ICU.
Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS is required.
LTAC experience is preferred.
Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
The daily census is approximately 35 patients.
The unit features a 12-bed ICU and a 35-bed Med-Surg unit.
Staff may work in both units.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
Common patient diagnoses include vent weaning, wound care, spinal cord injuries, tracheostomy care, and PEG feeding.
All staff may be required to float to other units as needed, performing tasks within documented competencies.
Travelers must have one year of experience with EPIC EMR.
Completion of modules is required prior to the start date and will be reimbursed up to 16 hours.
Additional skills required include central line care, chest tube management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, and management of dysrhythmias.
Floating among units may occur based on census and staffing needs.
