The unit consists of 32 beds and has good staffing levels. The expected nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1, depending on patient acuity. Common cases seen in this unit include sepsis, end-stage renal disease, and acute kidney injury requiring CRRT or CVVH. Post-cardiac arrest care and respiratory failure management are also part of the responsibilities. Candidates should have strong backgrounds in intensive care nursing to succeed in this role. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in medical intensive care settings.
