Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Experience with Vents, NIH, IV Start, ICP, Conscious Sedation. Ability to read and interpret EKG strips. Associate's degree in nursing or BSN is required. Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:2 for critical care patients and 1:3 for intermediate level patients on the unit. Traveler will float as needed and support the nursing care team in assigned areas. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Facility may cancel shifts due to low census with appropriate notice. Knowledge of a 16-bed ICU unit in a 310-bed hospital is preferred. The facility provides family-centered care and prioritizes customer service. Patient diagnoses include diabetes, respiratory illness, uncontrolled blood pressure, and more. Special procedures may involve cardiac surgeries, open heart procedures, and chest tube management. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Additional skills required include management of ventilated patients, IV administration, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction. Support for acute stroke management and interpretation of dysrhythmias is also needed. Compliance actions must be completed in a timely manner as per facility requirements.
