Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ICU/ICCU, managing complex medical cases such as respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, and GI bleeds
- Monitor telemetry and interpret EKG strips to detect arrhythmias and cardiac changes
- Manage ventilators and provide advanced respiratory support
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize Cerner EMR and tele-med robots for documentation and patient monitoring
- Participate in bedside reporting and maintain continuity of care during shift transitions
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Proficient in ventilator management and critical care nursing
- Strong understanding of ICU patient populations (respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, GI bleeds)
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
