Emergency and Critical Care Registered Nurse

Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in emergency and critical care, based in an acute care setting in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The primary focus will be providing comprehensive care to patients within the Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position requires a versatile clinician capable of managing high-acuity patients and adapting to dynamic environments.

The successful candidate will deliver direct patient care, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. While primarily assigned to ER and ICU, the role also involves supporting other nursing units as needed, assisting with patient flow, transport, and observation, ensuring optimal patient care across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to patients in Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans.
  • Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Rapid Response and Code Blue teams.
  • Assist with patient transport between units and departments.
  • Provide patient observation and support as required.
  • Support patient flow and logistics on other nursing units in a non-primary nurse capacity.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in an Emergency Room (ER) setting.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
