Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues. Develops plans that prescribe interventions to attain outcomes. Implements plans, coordinates care delivery, and promotes health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members, as well as team members. Directly provides health information to patients and families. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
