- Comfort with floating to Med/Surg
- Preferably experience in Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4
Description:
The position is for an ICU RN responsible for providing care in a 5-bed ICU unit with 2 intermediate care beds in the hallway.
Nurse to patient ratios are 2:1 for the ICU and 3:1 for intermediate care, depending on patient acuity.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, septic shock, detox, DKA, A-fib, and arrhythmias requiring pacing.
Candidates must be strong in ventilator management and comfortable troubleshooting and assisting respiratory equipment.
RNs are required to titrate medications, including Levophed, propofol, cardizem, esmolol, and insulin.
There is a charge nurse on duty who also takes a full assignment.
Clientists or intensivists are available during daytime hours, with tele-physician coverage overnight.
The unit does not have nurse aides, and RNs must read their own telemetry strips, with support from telemetry technicians available during the day.
Shifts are 12 hours, with an expectation of rotating weekends and working 2-3 holidays during the contract period.
The RN must be flexible to float to med/surg units if required, and may be asked to take patient ratios of 1:3-6.
The dress code requires solid professional attire without specific color designations.
All RNs must clock in and out at the facility.
