The position requires competencies in managing complex patient care situations. Responsibilities include the care and management of patients recovering from heart surgery and those on ECMO. You will also care for neurological ICU patients post-thrombectomy or craniotomy. Additional patient populations may include those with sepsis, gastrointestinal bleed, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Registered nurses will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary support team comprising various specialists. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are essential in managing patients with varying diagnoses and treatment plans. The position requires adherence to infection prevention protocols and effective communication within the healthcare team. Candidates should have experience with advanced monitoring and life-support equipment. The ability to provide patient and family education is also essential in this role. Flexibility to float to assigned units is a crucial aspect of this position. Weekend shifts will be required as part of the schedule.
