Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) - Cardiovascular
Job Summary
Join the dedicated team at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, California, within their 30-bed Cardiovascular Unit (CVU). This unit specializes in providing comprehensive medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to a diverse patient population ranging from young adults to geriatrics.
The CVU manages medium to high acuity patients who, while stable, possess a high potential for clinical instability, exhibit complex co-morbidities, and require an elevated level of nursing care beyond general patient care units. Patient diagnoses frequently include cardiac conditions, pre/post-cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI), post-pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and pneumonia.
Nurses on this unit maintain a supportive 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio, ensuring focused and high-quality care. Flexibility is key, as this role may require floating to other units, including Medical-Surgical, to support hospital needs.
