Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (June 15, 2026 – September 12, 2026)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity assignment in Utica, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for ICU nurses with strong critical care experience, especially those with cardiac and CRRT exposure. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary ICU environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide critical care to patients in ICU settings including Neuro, Medical, Surgical/Trauma, and CTICU
Monitor and manage ventilated patients and complex conditions
Administer medications, IV drips, and treatments per physician orders
Operate and monitor specialized equipment including CRRT (Prismaflex/NxStage), IABP, ICP monitoring, and TTM (Arctic Sun)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document accurately in EPIC EMR system
Float to other units as required (excluding Behavioral and ER unless holding patients)
Unit Details
Total Beds: 42 (Neuro/Med, CTICU, Surgical/Trauma)
Common Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, CHF, Post-STEMI, Trauma, Cardiogenic Shock, AAA
Specialty Equipment: CRRT, Prismaflex, Ventriculostomy, IABP, ICP Monitoring
Requirements
Active New York RN License (must be verified via NURSYS)
Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU experience (ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU)
Travel experience required
Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required
Cardiac/Heart experience highly preferred
Proficiency in EPIC EMR system
Current AHA Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
2 recent ICU Charge/Manager RN references required
Valid Driver’s License (must match candidate demographics)
Skills checklist matching ICU specialty
Additional Requirements
Must include any RTO (Requested Time Off) at time of submission
Floating required based on facility needs
Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in CTICU or cardiac ICU
Ability to manage high-acuity, critically ill patients
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
