Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call | No Floating
Key Responsibilities
Provide routine and complex nursing care for critically ill patients in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting, including patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator dependence.
Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU and IMCU patients at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 (ICU) and 4:1 (IMCU).
Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), Impella devices, post-operative cardiovascular surgeries, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Prior experience in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment.
Familiarity with ventilator management and care of patients with acute respiratory failure.
