    Travel RN – Critical Care (ICU), Days

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call | No Floating

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide routine and complex nursing care for critically ill patients in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting, including patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator dependence.
    • Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU and IMCU patients at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 (ICU) and 4:1 (IMCU).
    • Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
    • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
    • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
    • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
    • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), Impella devices, post-operative cardiovascular surgeries, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Prior experience in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment.
    • Familiarity with ventilator management and care of patients with acute respiratory failure.
