Provide direct patient care in a 38-bed mixed ICU serving medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery populations, including post-operative open-heart patients
Manage and monitor patients on advanced support devices including VV/VA ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT
Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions
Manage airway care and perform frequent drip titrations
Operate and interpret data from unit equipment including Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, and NICOM
Maintain a 2:1 or 1:1 patient ratio depending on acuity, collaborating closely with charge nurses and a team of 16–18 staff per shift
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of experience, with at least 1 year of current acute care ICU hospital experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with Meditech EMR
CVICU or CTICU experience, including care of immediate post-operative open-heart surgery patients
Familiarity with ECMO (Maquet Cardiohelp or Medtronic Vital Flow) and Impella devices
