    Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to a critically ill adult and geriatric patient population including Medical, Surgical, Coronary Care, Neuro, and Trauma patients in a 29-bed non-aggregated ICU with an average daily census of approximately 26 patients
    • Manage high-risk Neuro and Trauma interventions, including EVD management and Arctic Sun/cooling blanket protocols
    • Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including cardiac and vasoactive drip titration; Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG assessment must be completed and a passing score achieved prior to contract start
    • Operate and manage specialized equipment including IABP and CRRT
    • Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health records system
    • Float to IMC or other appropriate critical-care areas within scope and competency based on facility needs; expected patient ratio is 1:2 in ICU, with potential 1:4 ratio when floating to IMC
    Required Qualifications
    • Valid Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
    • Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience required
    • Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU experience required
    • Level II Trauma experience required
    • Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
    • ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
    • ATCAR or equivalent trauma education required (candidates may complete a Maryland-approved trauma course to satisfy this requirement)
    • Every other weekend availability required; holiday rotation required including hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day

    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Teaching hospital experience preferred
    • Level I Trauma experience preferred
    • First-time travelers are accepted
