Registered Nurse – ICU

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Every Other Weekend Coverage | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in an intensive care setting for a mixed population ranging from young adults to elderly, including post-operative patients
Care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and GI system diagnoses, including multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Perform and assist with specialized procedures including arterial line management, central line care, chest tube insertion/removal, and procedural sedation
Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage continuous IV sedation and paralytic agents, and administer blood products
Float to med/surg unit as needed and adhere to all infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols
Required Qualifications
Active New York State RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis)
Experience with a 1:3 patient ratio in an ICU environment
Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
EPIC EMR experience is a hard requirement
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience across Medical, Neuro, and Surgical ICU settings
Proficiency with glidescope, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ventilator management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol, IV insulin protocols, and PICC/port access and management
Familiarity with pulmonary conditions including respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, and pulmonary edema
