Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans aimed at returning patients to optimal health
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting with ratios of 1:2 (or 1:1 for special populations)
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks to ancillary staff including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates
• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and facilitate patient care conferences and discharge/transfer planning
• Communicate relevant patient information effectively across the care team and serve as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and assignment delegation
• Precept and mentor new employees and students while pursuing ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must be comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — documentation must be provided
• Must reside more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN certification (documentation required if held)
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Neurosurgical experience
• Open heart experience
